KeyMaestro Input Device Driver

Congratulations on your purchasing this keyboard. With 8 hotkeys featured for Internet & Multimedia, this keyboard is the best helper when you surf on the web by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (or later version).

When this driver is installed in your system, you may enjoy the extra feature which is not available for Windows 95  and Windows 98. More advantages are waiting for you to explore. Now just install the driver to enjoy this keyboard!

Installation

  1. Double-click the 'SetupKey.exe'.

  2. Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\Program files\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.

  3. The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on Windows System Tray.

 

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Right-click on the KeyMaestro driver icon icon.GIF (262 bytes) and select 'Exit' command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click 'Start' (on the left-bottom taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to 'Programs' in 'Start' menu.

  4. Move cursor again to 'KeyMaestro'.

  5. Select 'Uninstall KeyMaestro'.

  6. Click 'Yes' to confirm you want to uninstall.

 

LED Indication

Num Lock:  The KeyMaestro driver icon will show as numlock.gif (892 bytes) when you press the num lock button.   
Caps Lock: The KeyMaestro driver icon will show as capslock.gif (893 bytes) when you press the caps lock button.
Scroll Lock: The KeyMaestro driver icon will show as scrolock.gif (892 bytes) when you press the scroll lock button.

 

Hot Key Functions

All the keys below are reprogrammable (except Volume up/Volume down). If you want to change the setting, click the KeyMaestro icon on  Windows system tray and select Configuration command. For more details, please refer to the section Commands in the Menu.

WWW Web/Home

starts your Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and bring up the home page you set.

email.gif (1548 bytes)

Mail

opens the default program you use for mail. If more than one email programs are installed, you may select Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs -> Email to change the default setting from Internet Explorer.

WWW Back

returns to the last page you viewed. 

forward.gif (1139 bytes)

WWW Forward

views the next page you viewed before.

Play/Pause

presses this button to play Audio CD or Video CD, or to pause it.  When it is paused, you may press the button again to resume it from the current position.

Stop

stops the playing.

Volume down

Volume up

controls the volume to up or down of your audio output to the speakers.

 

Commands in the Menu

If you right-click the KeyMaestro icon on Windows system tray, a menu will pop up with the following options.

Click on this command, a customization dialogue box will pop up with following functions. 

1.  Select a Hot Key

This function contains the default function of a key. You can click on the "Display Label" to re-define the key functions. When you click it, a Configure Button box will appear.

*  Label

In the "Button Label" box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

 *  Functions

You can see a list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for the button.

*  Launch Application or Website

Type in the path to an often-used application or click the Browse button to select any file in your computer. If you want to attach a web page to the button, just simply type in the website address in the dialogue box.

* Combination Key

In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously, and some are three. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.

* String

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 500. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

2.  Enable Display Label

This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner on the screen. The default of this function is enabled.

3. Enable Taskbar Icon

This command is to show or hide the taskbar driver icon. When the function is enabled, you can see a driver icon its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner of the screen. If you want to reload it again, you can select Start => Program => Configure to launch it. The default of this function is enabled.

4. Enable Auto Play

This command is to show or hide the auto play function. When the function is enabled, the Microsoft Media Player will show on the screen after you press the “Play” key of the multimedia keys. For Winamp user, you can use the multimedia keys to control the Winamp function after you call out the Winamp and disable the Auto play function. The default of this function is enabled.

When there is no "Play" Key on the keyboard, please pre-define other key to have the "Play" function.

Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.

 

In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this Input Device Driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.
