/../Navigation

The navigation applets follow the protocol of the widely used apache web server. If the server provides appropriate index files, these files are more convenient to use because the menu reflects the order of files located on the server. Moreover, the server will never show it's error-page because the menu items correspond to files recognized by the server.

With a hand-made index, files and folders may be preselected because the applet only includes files and folders listed within the index file. However, this method is as error-prone as all human input.

As examples, I add some direct links to index files:

NoSwing/index.htm

Applets/index.htm

Navigator/index.htm

To copy the index pages as examples, please, choose "save under ..." after pressing the right mouse button.

The applet starts reading references at the first horizontal line. The first Url should be a path to parent directory. The applet is not reading that path but it counts it. Additionally, a visitor with inactivated Java may use the index files for navigation.

Here, after the first horizontal line, the applet starts reading references.
