OVERVIEW:

This package includes a German keyboard layout for US keyboards.

The included keyboard layout will allow you to type the characters ä ö ü ß Ä Ö Ü € from your US keyboard without using or remembering complex keystrokes.

The keyboard layout follows the German keyboard mapping for the following characters: ä ö ü ß Ä Ö Ü ; :

The characters z y Z Y remain in US keyboard format.

The keyboard layout also contains following characters: ' " - €

The keyboard layout allows the following characters to be typed through AltGr (Alt-Ctrl): < > [ ] { } _ $ § ° μ

This keyboard was created with Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator available [HERE].

The source document de-us.klc is included in this package, so if you wish to change the keyboard to suit your own personal tastes or needs you can do so easily.

The layout is shown below:

INSTALLATION:

	Download and unzip the installer de-us.zip.
	Run the installer de-us.msi .
	Open the Regional and Language Options Control Panel.
	From the Languages tab, select Details.
	From the Settings tab, select Add.
	Select German (Germany) from the Input Language dropdown menu; then select German (United States) from the Keyboard Layout/IME menu. Select OK.
	From the Settings tab, select Apply, then select OK.
	From the Language tab, select Apply, then select OK.
	A task bar displaying "EN" will appear near your system tray in the taskbar.
	To use the German keyboard, select "German (Germany)" from the Language Bar.
	To use the US keyboard again, select "English (United States)" from the Language Bar.

To disable the Language Bar select "Show the Language Bar" from the Language Bar.

	Open the Regional and Language Options Control Panel.
	From the Languages tab, select Details.
	From the Settings tab, select German (Germany), then select Remove.
	Select Apply, then select OK.
	Open the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel.
	Select German (United States), then select Remove.
