Before
Installation:
l
Before
installing, please run the SCANDISK and DISK DEFRAGMENTER utilities provided by
Windows for best performance. Also
disable any anti-virus programs to avoid any possible conflicts.
l
If
you have once installed a similar System Restore product, either hardware or
software, please remove it and all the drivers supplied with it before install HIRESTORE
SW.
l
Before installing new software, or executing
backup function, please always make sure it is virus free.

1.1 Start Windows, after running scandisk and
Windows defrag utility, please insert the HIRESTORE SW installation CD into the
computer’s CD-ROM drive, then click-on Install to start installation.
(If Autorun is not enabled, select Run
from the Start Menu on the Taskbar. Next, type E:\Setup.exe, where E: is the
designation of the CD-ROM drive.)
Welcome message of HIRESTORE SW Setup Wizard will then display. Click Next to continue. (Fig.1)

1.2 Next the License Agreement will show up,
please read it carefully. If you agree
with the terms of the license, click I accept the agreement and click Next
to continue, or click Back to the
previous screen or Cancel to exit the installation. (Fig. 2)

Select
one type to install: Typical or Custom and click Install
to continue. (Fig. 3)
1.3.1
Typical Installation will install the
program with the default setup and most common options. Recommended for most users. The default setting of Typical Installation
is to protect Drive C by instant recovery on every reboot.
1.3.2
Custom Installation allows users to
setup the preferred options during the installation. Recommended for advanced users. Please refer to Chapter 2. Option Menu.
1.3.3
Enable the check box of “Install HiRestore
SW Client” will install a Remote Control program. This program will allow
a master PC to remotely monitor and control the client PCs through Network.

1.4 After a setup
type is selected, a Register
window will pop up. (Fig. 4) Input the
Registration Code and Click “Register”. To
get a Registration code, please write down the displayed Serial Number and send
it to local distributor.

1.5 When asked if you want to restart your PC,
click Yes to finish the installation and
restart your computer to activate the program. Or click No to restart
later. (Fig.5)

Options can be setup during Custom Installation and can be accessed
anytime by right clicking the HIRESTORE SW icon on the Windows Taskbar. (Fig.
6)

Click Setup and enter password in the dialog box that displays, then
click OK. (Default password is HIRESTORE.)
Setup Menu appears like following figure. (Fig.7) All
the setting in this menu goes into effect after saving. Some settings activate after computer
restart.

Disk
menu displays the Disk Information, attribution of file system, used space and
protected status of each partition. Default setting of protected partition is
Drive C. Enable the check box can activate the protection. (Fig. 7)

Default setting
for recovery mode is On every reboot.
2.2.2
No Restore:
Disable Restore function.
2.2.3
On every reboot:
The system will be instantly restored to its original state or last backup on
every reboot.
2.2.4
Daily: The
system will be auto restored to its original status or last backup at the first
boot of every day.
2.2.5
Weekly:
The system will be auto restored to its original status or last backup at the
first boot of given day (Sunday~Saturday) every week.
2.2.6
Monthly:
The system will be auto restored to its original status or last backup at the
first boot of a specified date (Date 1st~31st) every
month.
2.2.7
Timer Restore: The
system will be auto restored to its original status or last backup according to
the preset schedule.
2.2.8
Manual Restore:
Select this mode; every access writes to the hard disk will be kept
temporarily. The system will be restored
to its original status through select <Restore> function by right-clicking
the HIRESTORE SW icon on the Windows taskbar.
The changes will be reserved permanently through select <Backup>
function by right-clicking the HIRESTORE SW icon on the Windows taskbar. Password is required on both selections. (Fig.9)

The default Password is HIRESTORE. UP to 10 characters are available to setup

2.4.1
CMOS
- Auto Restore:
Enable: To protect CMOS data against
changes. System will auto restore CMOS
data when this check box is enabled. (Fig. 12)
2.4.2
CMOS - Change Confirmation
Enable: To protect CMOS data against
changes. System will pop up a selection
menu on booting for you to execute Restore, Backup or Analyze
when CMOS data is changed. (Fig. 13) Analyze CMOS data is to make a comparison of
current CMOS data and the saved CMOS data in the hard drive for differences.
You can run this selection when some settings or peripherals have been changed
or replaced. Note: System will
reboot two times to proceed with CMOS analysis.

CMOS – No Restore
CMOS data can be changed any time if this check box is
enabled. Default setting is
enabled. (Fig. 12)

2.5.1
Hotkey Waiting Time:
Count down the predefined seconds to display hotkey <Home> on
every start-up. 1~99 seconds are
available. Default setting is 2 seconds.
2.5.2
Show warning when the free space
is less than % of the buffer: When the free space of buffer is
up to the predefined percentages, a warning box will display to remind you.
Default setting is 40%.
2.5.3
Show Hotkey:
When this check box is enabled, hotkey <Home> will prompt on every
start-up. Default setting is enabled.
2.5.4
Boot From
C Only: Computer boots from C. Enabling this setting will
help prevent data loss or damage by improper booting. Note: this function might be void by
different operating system and surroundings.
Right click the HIRESTORE SW icon
on Windows Taskbar to display the menu. (Fig. 15)

Click-on Show Free Buffer, you can
see the information of Restore mode, Driver version, used space and free space.

Executes
this command will prompt reboot into No Restore Mode for one time. By this function, user can install new
software or update parameters without changing the preset Restore
mode.
Instantly executes backup function
no matter what restore mode has been set. Password is required on this
selection. System will reboot to backup.

Click-on
Register and enter registration code to complete the registration. To get a registration code, please write down
the displayed serial number and contact with your local dealer.

Displays
information of HIRESTORE SW versions.
When HIRESTORE SW icon is Blue, it
is in Restore mode. Move the mouse to HIRESTORE SW icon,
you can see the protection status and Free Space percentage of buffer. (Fig.17)

is in No Restore mode. Move the mouse to
HIRESTORE SW icon; you will see the protection status. (Fig.18)

4.1 When
HIRESTORE SW is completed installation, you will see [HIRESTORE SW Press
<Home> to setup menu] on the screen on every reboot. (Fig. 19) This
hotkey is mainly used when troubleshooting or if you find it difficult to enter
Windows.

4.3.1
Restore: Executes
Restore function instantly. The Restore
function here allows you to restore back your crashed Windows to the last backup
status. The timing of using it is when
Windows is no longer accessible and thus cannot execute restore command in
Windows. (Fig.21)

Backup: Executes
Backup function instantly. This option
is visible only when the Restore Mode was set as Manual Restore. The timing of using it is when you want
to reserve the change of last booting. (Fig.21)

To
uninstall HIRESTORE SW from your computer will not cause any damages on your
hard disk data. All data and partitions
will be restored to their original state when HIRESTORE SW was installed or
when data was last backup.
5.1
Insert HIRESTORE SW installation CD.
5.2 Click-on
Uninstall and enter password.
5.3 System
will reboot to proceed uninstall. (Fig.23)
5.4 Uninstall
completed. You can select Reboot Now or
Power off your computer.
