- The iPOP Pro Menubar provides an entirely different technical solution
to the same framebusting problem. The object is to get pop-up menus to drop and
pop over frames and other HTML content. The Menubar uses what are known as
"AWT PopUp Menus".
- The advantages compared to the iPOP Pro Powerbar: simple small single applet file - easy to implement; no applet
signing required to get rid of the browser messages at the bottom of the submenus.
- The disadvantages compared to the iPOP Pro Powerbar: submenus are not graphically configurable; nodes cannot
fire links; does not work on Netscape 4.x for Macintosh.
- Note carefully: this menu only activates on a CLICK on the top level items;
it does not activate on ROLLOVER.
- This demonstration shows:
- Top-level menu arranged vertically rather than horizontally; buttons
may be as narrow or wide as you choose.
- Marble background image with matching border and text colour scheme.
- The spacing between the parent menu items depends
on the applet height - it evenly spaces out everything
in the available space. You can compact everything together
by choosing a smaller applet height - fast and convenient.
- Button creation characteristics:
much of what iPOP Pro does when creating the buttons in the parent
menu is conveniently automatic. If you select the buttonise option,
the applet calculates button sizes and borders itself, and tiles
in an optional background. It can set up buttons both in horizontal
and vertical stacks. You can create stunning effects easily and
conveniently in this way.
- Remember that a single applet purchase buys you an applet which
can adopt any of these appearances, or be tweaked by you to adopt
an appearance to fit your website aesthetics. Download a fully-featured
trial version to test this out.
