jQuery highlightTextarea can be used to grab the user's attention inside a textarea.
The plugin can be used to add a colored background to one or more words, letting him know he made a mistake or he did something wrong.
The plugin can work by highlighting using text-based filters for words and sentences, or using number ranges, highlighting from character X to character Y.
Multiple colors can be used in the same textarea and support for case sensitive filters is included.
highlightTextarea works with both textarea and text input fields, and comes with jQuery UI support as well.
Various examples are included with the download package.
