By default, browsers take a block of text and try to fit as many words on one line as possible.
This produces very small text blocks, but sometimes there are lines that contain just 1-2-3 words (called orphans or widows in typography).
The BalanceText jQuery plugin takes the word placement approach to a new level, balancing words from one line to the next, so the last row of a text is almost as big and long as the next, while still keeping the original text block's height intact and not producing any new rows.
This guarantees more visually pleasing layouts, while still saving whitespace.
A BalanceText demo is included with the download package.
